Whether you can follow a game recordcomes down to one link: notation and board.

That link is hard to build from reading alone. Kifu Drill repeats a single motion — see the notation, touch the square — and nothing else. Tsume-shogi commentary and live game records start to read at a different speed.

Questions

QIs it free?
Yes, it's free to play. A banner ad is shown in the app.
QWhich devices are supported?
iPhone running iOS 13.0 or later, and Android. The interface is in Japanese.
QDo I need to know how to play shogi?
The app trains one thing only — linking notation to a square on the board — so you can use it without knowing how the pieces move. There is no gameplay against an opponent.
